Pediatricians’ knowledge in children’s oral health: A systematic review

Background and Objective: There have been requests for physicians to address children's oral health more than a decade; yet screening, referral, healthcare are still underdeveloped in pediatric practice. Therefore systematic review was required understand the pediatricians' existing knowledge practice developing action strengthen their role health. Study Design: The electronic MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane, PubMed databases were searched. Additionally, bibliography of all relevant articles textbooks manually terms included ("Knowledge" [MeSH] AND (“Attitude" [MeSH]) ("Pediatricians" ("Children" ("Oral Health" [MeSH]. expanding international interest is highlighted this review. Results: findings show that doctors insufficient awareness key areas such as early clinical symptoms dental caries, suggested age first visit, etiology fluoride use recommendations. Inadequate education training, time restrictions practice, lack referral mechanisms obstacles pediatricians.
